NEW TILT LASER ARRAY

Mectron’s newly integrated Tilt Laser Array Plate will accommodate products with extreme cosine angles. Moving the lasers perpendicular to the center line of the part allows for accurate measurements in both axes. Enter the head and length dimensions into the system’s computer touchscreen, and it automatically calculates the correct degree for the laser array plate. The new Tilt Laser Array Plate can upgrade any existing Q-series systems.

Laser Array Plate

The New Tilt Laser Array in Action!

A laser array plate contains various laser diodes positioned in a particular arrangement on a plate. These diodes are lasers that radiate visible light when an electrical current is administered. Mectron’s array fires at eight hundred thousand cycles per second, allowing the machine to hold tolerances of two ten-thousandths of an inch, three hundred and sixty degrees around the part at three hundred parts per minute depending on configuration and weight.

Other companies use high-powered laser beams require the usage of laser array plates and have many forms of implementation including  the following:

  • Laser pumping

  • Laser printing

  • Industrial heating

The intent behind multiple laser diodes is to produce a high-powered laser beam, rather than the use of a singular laser diode. The benefits of using laser array plates include increased laser beam potential, improved energy production, and amplified dependability. The laser diodes can be managed separately from their counterparts to control the shape and direction of the laser beam.

Mectron’s laser array is unique because the lasers talk to each other, and fire one after another in a daisy chain to avoid any cross talk. Manufacturing lasers in house has allowed Mectron to stay on the cutting edge of laser technology.

Other Laser Uses

Users have more dynamic involvement with the shape and direction of the beam due to its ability to access singular laser diodes. This is immensely valuable in instances where scanning or meticulous targeting of the laser beam is needed. Examples of how the tilt laser array can be applied include the following:

  • Laser projection

  • Laser transmission

  • Laser tracking systems

These lasers can overcome atmospheric distortions by utilizing their ability to steer the beam in unison or separately depending on the circumstances. Overall, the tilt laser beam array plate offers increased dynamism and accuracy whether it be industrial, automotive, or medical implementations. MECTRON LSR-30 LASER

The LSR-30 laser scanning speed is one hundred times faster than the lasers formerly used on the Q2000 and Q4000 models. In some cases, customer’s stringent quality requirements have surpassed the old laser capabilities. Mectron has upgraded 200 machines in the past six years. The customer feedback: easier set-ups, meets all stringent requirements and greatly reduced reject rates based on LSR-30 inspection capabilities. Training

At Mectron training center:

  • Increase feed rates

  • Reduce cost of training with two companies sharing sessions (when available).

  • Advanced training – vision, digital eddy current, and laser

On-Site training:

  • System training

  • Improve run-rates

  • Daily preventive maintenance

  • Machine preventive maintenance evaluation included

Turnover in inspection departments is high, leaving new or partially trained operators with full responsibility. To provide your customers with zero ppm product, qualified and trained operators are essential. For more information call Tom Sande, at 734-944-8777 or contact us here.
